Please consider making a donation to help support the ongoing development of CSLA .NET.
The CSLA .NET framework is freely available from the downloads page, and is fully described in the Expert VB 2005 and C# 2005 Business Objects books from Apress.
Given that the framework is described in these books, it is quite reasonable to wonder why I am also accepting donations to support framework development.
The reason is this: normal books don't provide frameworks you can use to build business applications. And they certainly don't imply any sort of ongoing maintenance or development for the content they cover.
In the case of CSLA, I have continued to evolve the codebase over the past 10+ years, and I try to fix bugs and add features in a timely and ongoing manner. This is way beyond the scope of activity an author would normally count as part of "supporting a book", and as such, this is time and effort I put into the framework for free.
Admittedly, CSLA .NET is a labor of love for me. But at the same time, I have kids who will one day go to college. I have a mortgage, and all manner of related expenses. Somehow I have to justify the hours and hours of time I put into ongoing development, and providing what support I can through the online forum.
And so I have chosen to ask for your help. If you find the framework to be useful, and if you appreciate and value its ongoing evolution, I sincerely appreciate any donation you or your employer can make.
Thank you,
Rocky
