All we need is the browser
I take it back. We don't need Windows Forms, smart clients or Flash. Javascript and XML are obviously enough to rule the world. For evidence, see http://maps.google.com.
 
(now we just need tools to let us write stuff like this as easily as we program Windows Forms and the game's up)
