« Using CSLA Light Part 3 | Main | Using CSLA Light Part 4 »

There are many code generation tools and templates available for CSLA .NET. You can find a list here

http://www.lhotka.net/cslanet/codegen.aspx

Over time I expect to blog about several of the options, usually as they release new versions or updated templates.

One of the more robust options is CodeBreeze, from Miguel Castro. Miguel just released a new version of his product, which includes completely refreshed CSLA .NET code-gen templates.

Miguel is also the author of the CSLA .NET training class from Dunn training, so he knows CSLA inside and out. He's put up a forum to support CodeBreeze at http://community.steelbluesolutions.com.

This is a cool list of tools. Does all these tool latest version of csla.net? Many of these tools list which verion of csla is suppored and tested. It is difficult for a newbie to decide which tool is best. Why Magenic does not offer its own version of tool?

I have no control over how the individual tools or template projects document their materials. You are right, it would be nice if they each clearly spelled out which version(s) of CSLA they target.

Magenic does have a code-gen tool, and we use it as part of our overall service offering. But Magenic is a consulting company, not a software tools company, and the code generator is a "value add" for organizations that use our consulting services.

The fact that Magenic is a patron for CSLA itself is pretty cool. Without the incredible support I get from Magenic (which represents a non-trivial investment on their part) there's no way CSLA would be anything close to what it is today.

Many people ask me how I have time to do everything I do - and the primary answer is that it is due to Magenic's patronage.
