I take it back. We don't need Windows Forms, smart clients or Flash. Javascript and XML are obviously enough to rule the world. For evidence, see http://maps.google.com.
 
(now we just need tools to let us write stuff like this as easily as we program Windows Forms and the game's up)

I still think HTML is a tired old beaten dead donkey.

maps.google.com is ultra cool, no doubt. But that same app in the power of Avalon would have been extreme kickass.

Note that my tongue was firmly in my cheek as I typed. As cool as google maps might be, consider that there are only a handful of people in the world with the skills to actually pull it off... That is not a good story for a "mature" technology of nearly a decade in age.
